Why Your Event Needs Diverse Content

Event-Content-Diverse-Enough-Blog

Making your event’s content diverse isn’t a nice-to-have anymore, it’s a must. Not every attendee comes from the same mindset, has the same learning style, or processes information in the same way. In fact, you can pretty much be sure that each attendee will need different experiences in order to walk away from the event feeling like it was a worthwhile and enriching experience. In other words, for the event to meet its goal.

To cater to multiple learning types, you’ll have to look beyond that classic hour-long “presenter and a power point” session. These, of course, are still important. They are perfect for some attendees. But there are many types of sessions and content out there. Other options include workshops, where attendees can do hands-on exploring, immersive experiences, expert meetings, or even group brainstorms, that can lead to knowledge-sharing among attendees, speakers and experts alike.

As the content strategy for your event starts to come together, ask yourself how many ways an attendee might be able to find a single piece of information. Is it 3? 5? 10? ...only 1?

It’s easy to imagine that many of your attendees might think similarly, but as a rule they don’t. That’s why it’s more important than ever that you diversify the event content for your attendees—or you might send a lot of them home disappointed.

Hubb CEO, Allie Magyar, discusses this in the video below. Enjoy!
