We started 2020 treating virtual events as the red-headed step child—something that was an add-on for attendees that couldn't attend in-person. They were limited in content and were often no more than a glorified live-stream of the keynotes. As an industry we learned how to make virtual events rock through an education in the trenches, hosting thousands of virtual events where brands and companies staked their entire futures on this largely untested format.
So as we approach the rest of 2021, we are battle hardened and know a lot about what works and what doesn't.
