Unite2018-Recap-Blog

We’re all back in our offices now, home from the Event Tech Tribe’s user conference, UNITE 2018, and feeling the warm fuzzies that follow sharing tasty food and camaraderie with so many amazing people. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Tribe’s first user conference – your insight and joy made the event a success.

Here are some of our favorite moments:

Event tech evangelist Dahlia El Gazzar rocked it with her presentation “Influencer Marketing: The Why and How Right Now.”

Dahlia shared this stat: 94% of marketers who use influencer marketing found it an effective practice, and influencer marketing can generate up to 11X the ROI of traditional advertising. Yes, please!

She also shared great quote-able quotes from inspiring influencer marketing experts:

“The power of influencer marketing is in relationship building and trust, as you can’t build that overnight. Think long term.” - Lindsay Fultz, VP Brand Partnerships & Strategy @theAmplify. @lindsayfultz

“When you apply the best principles of intentionally designed experiences with influencers you can add extra levels of humanity to things like event marketing, wayfinding, content and more.” - Nick Borelli of Borelli Strategies. @NickBorelli

“Speakers can and should be huge influencers that reinforce and enhance your event’s theme and goals. But to make that happen, you must partner with the speaker before, during and after the event to ensure their messaging (live and online) are in alignment.” – Thom Singer, CSP, speaker and influencer. @thomsinger

In today’s world of influencer marketing we can better relate to a micro-influencer because it’s easier to get to know, like and trust them. We don’t have to wade through the masses to reach them or talk to their assistant. They are approachable. They are within arm’s reach. A micro-influencer is powerful to any business and the research data backs it.” - Madalyn Sklar, Twitter marketing strategist. @MadalynSklar

Kevin Raheja, director of strategic partnerships at Hubspot, discussed the importance of an integrated software stack. Backed up by Hubspot’s wealth of data, the insights he shared were so powerful.

For example, companies with integrated systems, get more leads, more website visitors and more customers. Their entire customer funnel improves when they add a new system to their stack.

Companies also experience other benefits: Improved security; unity of event workflows; time-saving and reduced costs; efficient data analysis; and real-time customer insights.

Atlassian’s Manager of Event Strategy Amy Walter shared her experience seeking out best-in-craft event technology to help prove the value for Atlassian’s events.

We loved Amy’s thoughts about the power of open working and open thinking.

“Do you remember the last time you had a great idea, like a really good idea…and then you brainstorm, and together as a team with collaboration, you were able to make it 10 times better. That’s what open is all about.”

And then there was the unconference. Check out some of the awesome topics that led to some engaging knowledge sharing...
